Day 8 of trim

Wow, today was not a good day. They finally got me a price to insulate the garage walls and ceiling and all I can say was ...... I guess I shouldn't repeat what I told them. Once again their price is roughly 4 times what it should have cost me if we would have just slowed down and asked a few more questions or had a better line of communication. I am passing on this option and moving forward with the house.
The trim carpenters got a ton of work done today. We now have a mantel, garage stairs, and even some closet shelves. They are getting so close to being done with the trim work. The next step is getting some paint and stain for the house. Lisa and I stopped by Sherwin-Williams to check out their duration paint. We originally wanted eggshell but with a up sell price tag of $.50/sqft we needed to find a more economical option. With this paint all we would pay is the higher cost in material and no labor like we would with the eggshell. So once again we have to wait to find out what the new higher cost is going to be.

Garage stairs finished.
Mantel built for the most part. We are doing a raised hearth so that will come soon enough.
